# TinyForge — Monetization Playbook

This site is a **revenue-ready asset**. It ships free and privacy-first so it can rank in search and attract traffic. Money comes from four channels, in order of effort:

## 1. Display ads (fastest, lowest effort)
1. Apply to **Google AdSense** once you have ~1–2k monthly visitors and original content (add a blog).
2. Drop ad units into the `.ad-slot` placeholders in `index.html` (top banner + mid-content + sidebar).
3. Alternative networks if AdSense rejects: **Ezoic**, **Mediavine** (needs 50k sessions), **Carbon Ads** (dev audience), **EthicalAds**.
4. Expected: $2–$8 RPM for utility traffic; $20–$50 RPM for dev/design audiences.

## 2. Affiliate commissions (high margin)
Replace the placeholder links in the "Recommended tools" section with real affiliate links:
- **Image CDNs:** Cloudflare Images, Bunny Optimizer, Imgix, ImageKit — recurring commission.
- **Hosting:** Cloudflare Pages (free, but referral programs exist), Vercel, Netlify, Hostinger, Bluehost.
- **Design tools:** Canva Pro, Figma, Affinity.
- **Stock photos:** Shutterstock, Adobe Stock.
Typical: 10–30% recurring or $50–$200 per signup.

## 3. Pro tier (highest LTV)
The waitlist captures emails. When ready, ship **TinyForge Pro** ($9/mo or $79/yr) with:
- Batch folder processing, CLI, HTTP API
- WordPress / Shopify plugin
- Team seats, higher limits
- Priority support
Stack: Stripe Checkout + Cloudflare Worker for license keys + Resend for email.

## 4. Sponsored content / tools
Once traffic grows, sell sponsored tool placements or "best image optimizer" listicle inclusions.

## Launch checklist
- [ ] Pick a domain (tinyforge.alimpsc.nexus or similar) and deploy to Cloudflare Pages (`wrangler pages deploy .`)
- [ ] Submit sitemap to Google Search Console & Bing Webmaster Tools
- [ ] Write 5–10 SEO blog posts: "How to compress images for web", "WebP vs AVIF", "Image SEO checklist", etc.
- [ ] Add analytics (Plausible or GA4) — privacy-friendly recommended
- [ ] Apply to AdSense after 20+ indexed pages and steady traffic
- [ ] Set up affiliate accounts (Amazon Associates, hosting, CDN)
- [ ] Wire waitlist form to a real email tool (Mailchimp/ConvertKit/Resend) via a Worker
- [ ] Add Ko-fi / "Buy me a coffee" link for early donations

## Realistic timeline
- Week 1–2: deploy, index, first blog posts
- Month 1–3: 1k–5k monthly visitors, AdSense approval
- Month 3–6: $50–$300/mo ads + affiliates
- Month 6–12: launch Pro, target $500–$2k/mo

## Notes
- Keep it free & privacy-first — that's the differentiator vs. competitors that upload your files.
- Don't over-monetize early; a slow, clean site ranks better.
- Reinvest first revenue into content (freelance writers) to compound traffic.
